Summertime in Athens when the students leave the town to the long term residents and the oppressive heat seeps in. Everything slows down a few paces and the sun sets later and later.
Despite the sluggishness that everyone else begins to feel this time of year, the farmers of Northeast Georgia are just gearing up for their busiest season, and here at Heirloom, we are getting ready to burst with excitement about their bounty.
We should be opening our doors in just a few short days, barely beating summer to the punch. As we approach the longest day of the year, Heirloom is training our staff, touring farms, picking out our wine and beer offerings, receiving beautiful produce and meat from local farmers and putting ourfinishing touches on a couple of years worth of hoping and dreaming.
Take a look around our site and explore our story, glance at our sample menus, and get ready to come and spend time with us. We can’t wait for you to lounge on our patio in the last rays of summer night with some local cheese and a glass of rose, or for you to play a leisurely game of bocce ball while waiting for your to go order. You could even step in side for a refreshing glass of lemonade with a cup of gazpacho and a creamy chopped salad.
Check back soon for more details on our opening, and we look forward to serving you soon.
