The holidays bring us closer to each other, but sometimes they cause more stress than anticipated. At Heirloom, we want to make things easier on you, so how about this–you make the turkey, we’ll bring the sides and dessert!
We have stuffing with apples & pecans made with Luna bread, green bean casserole, braised Sundance Farms turnips & turnip greens, Sundance Farms carrot, Healing Path Farm pumpkin, apple, & ginger soup with cran-apple coulis and toasted pumpkin seeds, McMullan’s sweet potato souffle (made from my mom’s famous recipe), beet, carrot & fennel salad, and of course, we can’t forget the cranberry sauce. For dessert, Teri and Caroline will whip you up one of their luscious pies: choose from pumpkin, pecan or apple. All of these items are vegetarian. Each side is $11 and serves 4-6 people, depending on appetite. Cranberry sauce is $6 for a pint and serves about 4 people. Pies are $13 each and serve 8 people. Please email jessica@heirloomathens.com with “Thanksgiving order” in the subject line to place your order. The deadline for all orders is Nov. 20 at noon. Items will be available for pickup on Nov. 22 or 23. Please specify which day you would like to pick up your food when you order. We look forward to serving you and your family!
Not sure what to drink with your Thanksgiving feast? Join Michael Slater of Northeast Sales for a Thanksgiving wine primer on Tuesday November 22 at 6:00. He will taste you through some of the best wines to serve with your turkey dinner, and tell you where you can by them in town. Please call 706-354-7901 to reserve a spot. The tasting is $10 per person, and you get 10% off if you stay for dinner.
Also on Tuesday November 22, 10% of all sales will go to the Boybutante Aids Foundation, an organization that raises money for AIDS Athens. AIDS Athens provides critical health care, prevention, and social services to clients throughout Northeast Georgia. Please join us for a meal that day to support this very important cause.
We will be closed on Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25 to celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. We hope you have a wonderful holiday and join us when we come back on Saturday for brunch or dinner.
Coming in December…..
We are so honored that the Boulevard Neighborhood Association has chosen to let us host their annual meeting. If you are a member of the organization, we hope you will join us from 4:00-6:00 on Sunday, December 4. We will have soft drinks, beer, and wine for sale, and the BNA will be providing delicious snacks for you to munch on.
Want to keep your holiday shopping in the community? We do, too, and on December 11, there are two great opportunities for you to do so. Check out the Athens Artist Market at Hotel Indigo from 11:00-7:00, then come by and see us for our own Heirloom Holiday Artists’ Market from 4:00-7:00. We will have crafts and art from Erin Sanders, Keith Rein, Megan Boling, Susie & Travis Burch, Lea Purvis, Callahan Woodbery, Sarah Ellis, Laurel Hill, Keara Connor, Nora Arkin, Carter Gillies, Juana Gnecco, Rhys May, Kassie Arcate and even pies to snack on from Jim Wilson. In case it isn’t exciting enough, we will be providing some yummy holiday snacks of our own as well as ample hot chocolate, cider and coffee. You can even sip some beer or wine while you browse. Happy shopping and keep it in the community!
