On Sunday, October 26th, at 5:00, take a drive out to Watkinsville. Cross the railroad tracks off to the left. Turn at the pecan orchard; you know the one. Park in the field behind the farmhouse. Duke, the Powers’ German Shepherd may greet you as you walk a few steps more. Watch out for that chicken. She’s a wild one. Follow the music around front and join us under the twinkling lights.
You are about to have a lovely and special night full of thoughtful conversation and toasts with new friends, a glimpse into your local food system, and a playful and nourishing meal. The evening will begin with a cocktail and some snacks accompanied by music from Cicada Rhythm, followed by a tour of The Pastures of Rose Creek, by the ever charming William. Gentlemen, be prepared for your ladies to get lost in his grin. William will tell you the story of his family’s connection to this land, his circuitous journey to farming, and the passion that they have to provide a rare breed of cow to our little corner of the world. Once you know the story, take a seat, sit back, relax and enjoy.
