Friday February 20th and Saturday February 21st, The Classic Center will be overrun with sustainable farmers, restauranteurs, locavores, and food advocates for the annual Georgia Organics conference. With farm tours, workshops, educational sessions, keynote speaker Hugh Acheson, and a Farmer’s Feast with local restaurants donating their time and skills, this conference is not to be missed for the prospective farmer, experienced grower, or organic gardener. There are still spots available so register here today. Heirloom will be offering 10% to anyone with a conference badge Friday through Sunday so if you are in town for the conference stop on by and see us.
On Sunday, February 22nd, from 5:00-8:00, Community Connection will be holding its annual major fundraiser, Taste of Athens. Even if you have been before, be prepared for a totally new experience. Finding its home in the beautiful atrium at The Classic Center this year, there will be fewer restaurants participating, but they will be offering a little bit higher end fare than they may have in the past. There will be wine and beer in the atrium, and a cocktail contest upstairs in the firehall. A raffle with lots of great prizes will be going on throughout the event, and it is sure to offer a great experience for guests. Tickets can be purchased here ahead of time. We can’t wait to see you there.
