Our friend, Katy Nilsen, moved to Chile a few years ago, and was able to acquire a dream job with Cousiño-Macul, the oldest continuing run family winery in Chile. Katy returned to the states recently as the American representative to the Cousiño-Macul brand, and we are lucky enough to have her boss, Veronica Cousiño, join her from Chile for this 5 course wine dinner. Veronica is part of the newest generation of winemakers in the Cousiño family, and while she focuses her energy on marketing and international exports, she is responsible for the celebrated wine, Dama de Plata, a broody, dark leather Cabernet Sauvignon blend with feminine, elegant notes in homage to the woman who brought the Cousiño’s silver mines back to life in a time of turmoil. Cousiño-Macul’s wines are mostly Bordeaux varietals and focus on marrying an old world style with notes of what makes Chilean wine unique. The dinner is $65 and will feature 5 wines. Call 706-354-7901 to reserve your spot.
