We are excited to announce that our market is up and running with lots of goodies for you to buy and snack on. We have Pure Bliss nuts and energy bites, Lauri Jo’s pepper jelly, Sweetwater growers infused oil, Mills Farm milled products, Phickles, Johnston Family Farm dairy, cheeses from Sweetgrass dairy, Greendale Farm, and Nature’s Harmony, and takeaweay meals for you to heat up at home. We’ve got premade sandwiches, soups, pimento cheese, hummus, and some meat & three and side items. Takeaway meals change daily so keep an eye out when your are in the store. A lot of the retail items make great stocking stuffers and host gifts, too, so keep us in mind for the holidays.
Speaking of holidays, as you may have already experienced, there are lots of opportunities to shop local for the holidays here in Athens. This upcoming Sunday, December 11, presents two very exciting artists markets. Stop by Hotel Indigo between 11:00 and 7:00 for the Athens Artists Market, then head here to Heirloom for our very own artists market from 4:00-7:00. We will have snacks, beverages, and lots of wonderful crafts to buy for your holiday gift giving needs. Erin Sanders, Jenna Moon, & Amy Woodruff will have textiles galore with a farmhouse aesthetic. Callahan Woodbery provides paintings, as will Susie Burch (who painted the wonderful truck and market scene you see when you come in the front door). Juanna Gnecco & Carter Gillies can fill your ceramics needs. Katherine Arcate & Megan Boling have everything you need in the letterpress world, and Katherine has a bit of embroidery as well. Laurel Hill & Rhys May have some lovely jewelry for you to peruse. Nora Arkin has knitted items to keep you warm. Keith Rein will provide illustration & design to keep you entertained and aesthetically inspired. Sarah Ellis will inspire as well with carefully captured photography. Keara Connor has lots and lots of glorious gift ideas as well as paintings. And finally, Jim Wilson has PIES, and who doesn’t want pie?
Don’t forget, we will have holiday sides & desserts available for pick up on December 23 & December 24. Check back soon for a menu.
One final note, we will be open for brunch on Christmas Eve, but closed for dinner. We will be closed from December 25-December 31 for a much needed vacation, and to do some maintenance on the restaurant. We will, however, be open on New Year’s Day for brunch from 12:30-4:30. Why so late? Because who wants a New Years Day brunch without champagne? Reservations recommended. More details to come.
